Due to the long-term plans crafted by team members to win a campaign, we enforce a side-lock for the duration of a campaign. Each campaign you are free to select once more.
To select your side, check out the module availability from the slot list or server browser and open up the chat window and type -red
or -blue
to select your coalition.
Once complete, you will receive a message saying you have chosen a side and will now be able to select a slot from that coalition.
You will always be able to slot at air frames from your Coalitions Unrestricted
location
This makes a good choice to login and view the current map and what airfields your team has captured and what FARPs are available.
Once slotted you may use the F10 (Other) → F2 (Summary) → F2 (Base Summary)
to obtain your coalitions base summary
The most important aspects to consider are
FW - Number of Fixed Wing Lives available at the location
RW - Number of Rotary Wing Lives available at the location
Lives are regenerated over a period of time per base, for more information, please see: Lives
The Shelter (S) prefix shows the current level of shelter that is at a base, this is the most important aspect to be aware of when selecting a slot as it limits what weapons you may have available.
Level | Description |
---|---|
0 | Useful for hard to locate FARPs for forward deployment of units via Transport Flights Unable to load additional weapons other than Integrated Gun |
2 | IR, or Laser Guided Weapons, Fox 1, Fox 2 except ET and 9X |
3 | No restrictions |
Players are responsible for the upgrade, and maintenance of Airbases, and where FARPs are deployed. For more information see: Airbases and FARPs
The base summary is periodically updated to a coalition private channel in Discord to enable you to see without having to slot at an unrestricted base.
We have plans to add an interactive web site to show the base information to more easily facilitate this task.
The map is split into triangular zones. Each zone is named after the MGRS grid (10km resolution) for the center of the zone
For your convenience there is a small circle helping you identify the zone name at the center point of the triangle to help assist in determining the zone name. In this case, we can see that FARP BS1
is in zone DN30
as this is MGRS grid showing the center point of the triangle
The zone state has 2 primary components
The border color communicates the state of units within the zone
Border Color | Description |
---|---|
White | Neutral - Neither coalition have offensive units are within the zone |
Blue | Blue have offensive units in the zone |
Red | Red have offensive units in the zone |
Black | Contested - Both Red and Blue have offensive units in the zone |
Most deployed ground units are considered offensive with the exception of several JTAC units that are used for reconnaissance and provide Markers to assist in engagements.
The fill state of a zone provides information on whether the enemy has established a Base in the zone. A base could be an Airbase or a player deployed FARP (that support slotting)
Zone Fill Color | Description |
---|---|
None | No established bases resides within the zone |
Blue | Blue has an established base (Airbase or FARP with friendly unit, or JTAC present in the zone) |
Red | Red has an established base (Airbase or FARP with friendly unit, or JTAC present in the zone) |
Yellow | Industrial Zones, marked with purple corners, may be filled yellow - You may build factories in this zone. Once complete they will be filled either blue or red, depending on the owner of the zone |
Green | Your coalition has the ability to deploy a FARP in the zone |
In the image above, we can see that Gudata and Nalchik are Neutral and ripe for capture.
Due to a limited palette and options to avoid changing the borders, we have introduced notches to denote special zones
Notch Color | Description |
---|---|
Purple | Denotes an Industrial zone, for more information, please see Factories |
For Air to Ground tasking, we would highly recommend focusing on Contested zones (Black border) as these represent an immediate threat to your ground units or bases zones
This would be followed by Hostile zones (bordered by hostile coalitions color) towards your base, as they could be moving units forward to attack.
If you're interested in Air to Air tasking, the knowledge of which airbases the Enemy currently control should influence where you focus.
For Air to Air players in particular, please take a look at utilizing our Tankers and player seasonable / relocatable AWACS
We love Combined Arms and the dynamic environment it brings to players.
Combined arms is integral to base capture, base defenses and establishing SAMs beyond the immediate vicinity.
