TLDR:
- 2 Modern Fighter Lives - 4 hour cool-down
- 2 Legacy Fighter Lives - 4 hour cool-down
- 2 Attack Rotary Lives - 2 hour cool-down
- 4 Transport Rotary Lives - 2 hour cool-down
There are now two categories of lives:
Fixed wing Lives
Each FW Life has a 4 hour cool-down, adjusted by stack over 30 mins to a minimum 30 minutes on death
2 Modern FW lives : (F-15, F-16, F/A-18, JF-17, AV-8B, SU27/33)
2 Legacy FW lives: (everything else)
Rotary Wing Lives
Each life has a 2 hour cooldown, adjusted by stack over 30 mins to a minimum 30 minutes on death
2 Attack RW lives (AH-64, Mi-24, Oh-58, KA-50, SA-342)
4 Transport RW lives (UH-1H, Mi-8, CH-47)
Any lower tier can use lives from tier within the category - if you are solely a rotary logistics player you would have 6 lives
Here's the list of airframes per category.

Modern Fighters can only be spawned from main Airbases. These are represented as Red/Blue coloured hexagons on the map.
Legacy Aircraft can be spawned at both main Airbases and secondary Airbases.
An Airbase within an Objective (circle) is a Secondary Airbase, and is represented by the use of AB
in the name of the zone; example NALCHIK AB
.
Attack Helicopters can be spawned from any Airbase or player spawned FARP, BUT, they can only be armed with weapons at Airbases and player spawned FARPs (with a built Shelter of course), NOT Objectives. (Internal guns are allowed from anywhere). You can land, despawn, or refuel at Objectives
Transport helicopters can be spawned anywhere, but are subject to the same weapons restrictions at Objectives (internal guns only)
You can transfer your life between bases using the Dynamic Spawn system. If you de-slot after coming to a complete stop, your life will be saved and allow you to re-slot later if needed. If the Shelter at your saved spawn is destroyed, you can no longer spawn there. You can always check your lives status with the F10 menu, or the chat command -lives
Should you then re-spawn back at a main Airbase or FARP, your life is transferred and you can no longer slot at the forward base
If you choose an Aircraft in the Dynamic slot list and are presented with this message, you cannot slot there.
Either there are no spawns allowed, or the base is damaged. Check your chat message to find out why
AV-8B only; you can transfer your life to a player spawned FARP. If you want to re-spawn into this slot, you must use the Spawn slots menu, not the Dynamic slots menu.
Note that you can transfer an attack helicopter life to an objective but you won't be able to rearm there.
There are no life restrictions at the unrestricted airfields, and you will always be able to slot at this location. You can transfer your unrestricted life from the free base to any base.
For rotary wings the factory acts as the unrestricted airfield. You can transfer the factory life to any base or FARP.
